THE SENIOR NCOs

Staff Sergeant or Acting

Staff Sergeant/Acting is the third highest rank a cadet can achieve. He/She must work along with the Junior Instructor to carry out the command of the Senior Instructor. He or she must have the age of 15 years to l6 years. He/She must be ready to work along with all NCOs and must give the Junior Instructors a run down of which NCOs are not fit to be promoted or those that need to be demoted. He/She will be wearing one sleeve that has three V-shapes with an arc on top on the left arm.

The Staff Sergeant/Acting as the Senior NCO must meet the qualifications set by the Advancement Board to be eligible.

The Staff Sergeant/Acting is in charge of the Corp. He/she should call the Corp to order, preside over membership inventory and inspection. He/she should dismiss the corp. He/she:-

1. preside at all Corp meetings, events, and activities

2. chairs the NCOs’ Council

3. assigns duties and responsibilities to Junior NCOs

4. trains and guides Junior NCOs

5. takes over Corp leadership in the absence of Corp’s Adult Leaders

6. teaches the cadets about Citizenship, Physical Fitness, Hiking, Safe Fire Building, Nature/Conservation, Woodcraft Skills, Outdoor Cooking, Camping, and Parade Drills

Sergeant or Acting

Sergeant/Acting is the fourth highest rank a cadet can achieve. He/She must work along with the Staff Sergeant to carry out the command of the Junior Instructor. He/She must have the age of 13 years to 15yrs. He/She must be ready to work along with all NCOs and must give the Staff Sergeant a run down of which NCOs do work along with him/her. He/She will be wearing one sleeve that has three V-shapes on the left arm.

He/she assist in the teaching of Citizenship, Physical Fitness, Hiking, Safe Fire Building, Nature/Conservation, Woodcraft Skills, Outdoor Cooking, Camping, and Parade Drills.
